This is the annual Wings of Freedom tour for 2016...Included this year were "909, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress"Tondelayo," a North American B-25 Mitchell and "Betty Jane," a North American TP-51C Mustang, the only airworthy dual control Mustang left in the world...Scheduled was a visit from "Witchcraft," a Consolidated B-24 Liberator which was re-routed to Ellington Field with engine trouble...

The P-51 also developed engine problems after reaching Conroe Airport, and was under repair in a hangar during our visit...One WWII veteran who was an engine mechanic on B-24's while stationed in England made the trip from Houston specifically to see "Witchcraft"...He gave my grandson and I a living history lesson while we were there...

While there I became reacquainted with a delightful young lady who brought along a gentleman whom I believe she identified as her father, or perhaps sugar daddy...He said he preferred to be called Cap'n Mike...

The senile stalker who seems to haunt me at every warbird and car show gathering was present...He is seen here in handcuffs waiting for the authorities to whisk him off...

My grandson had never stood in a bomb bay before...

The lettering on the building does not refer to the price of AvGas, but is the broadcast frequency of General Aviation Services at Conroe Airport...

My grandson takes his watch at the B-17's side un, ever watchful for German ME-109's...He did a good job, because we weren't strafed all day...

Apparently my stalker escaped custody long enough to attempt picking the pocket of my grandson for his lunch money...He was unsuccessful...

The gentleman to the right was only a little disappointed in being unable to tour the B-24, but was happy seeing the other aircraft also...After his tour of duty in England, he was sent to the Pacific Theater to service B-29's...
