As always, the Conroe Cruisers Car Club put on a terrific show at the League Line Road Outlet Mall...

Bikes are cool, but we came for the cars and trucks...

The first of many really clean, really sharp trucks...

There were plenty of 60's Camaros to drool over...

This beautiful Chevelle brought back some memories...

Look closely at this rarity...Mercury only marketed the Medalist one year, 1956...Its proud owner is polishing the left rear taillight...

The attractive model I brought with me is eyeing a late 60's Buick Riviera...

I believe the device strapped to the model's back is a parachute in case she decided to bail out on me...

I don't particularly care for the Mad Max lugnuts, but the workmanship in this truck speaks for itself...

This is one super-sharp early sixties Chevy...

Its older twin is this 1950 model...

A very clean mid-80's square body Chevy...

This early 50's Chevy Deluxe Sedanette is an example of how straight six engines were modified for power before the introduction of the Chevy V8 in 1955...Dual carburetors on a log manifold and a split exhaust...

This Ford F-100 is always a show stealer...

The show abounded in nice Corvettes...

A big-block Super Sport Camaro...

This truck was not an entry, but should have been...

This El Camino was modified with the addition of Monte Carlo SS body parts...

A rare 1934 Ford pickup...

A late 30's International pickup with a 454 Chevy engine...

A perennial favorite is this 1946 Ford Super Deluxe coupe...The first year of post-WWII production...

No V8 for this Mercury Comet, just a reliable 170 CI straight six...

My favorite car at this show is this 1957 Ford Fairlane with Dayton wire wheels...I had to watch "Thunder Road" again after seeing this one...

In the 50's this style would have been called "just plain piperacks" because of its simplicity...I like 'em like this...

A beautiful Chevy Nova...

I incorrectly guessed the year model of this El Camino...My attractive model had to point out that it is a 1966...

An old debadged Roadrunner with a modern Hemi...It's hard to believe 50 years have passed since this was new...

This truck is so brilliant, my model had to avert her eyes...

A sharp Z-28...

I had to split my favoritism between this 1966 Dodge Power Wagon with its Cummins 4BT and the 1939 Dodge seen later...

Seen from any angle this is a stunner...I particularly like the Braden winch...

My model was stunned over the attention to detail on this 1955 Ford F-100...

I always drool over '55 Chevies...My own in high school was a 2 door hardtop, but I could get used to this sedan...

A really cool Deuce...

This car's builder found it in a state of disrepair and rebuilt it in dirt track style...

I'm never sure how to describe this work of art other than to say it is unique...

This 1950 Ford coupe has numerous styling cues once seen on the full customs of the fifties...Chopped top, lowered suspension, pancaked and louvered hood, nosed & decked, frenched headlights...

The shark's tooth grille is from a '53 Chevy and I believe the bumper is a Cadillac LaSalle...Note the twin teardrop spotlights and the butted and flushed windshield...I was afraid to inquire about the asking price...I might have been forced to write a check...

A very nicely done 1934 Ford three window coupe...

Another non-entry that should have been...

I really liked this 1939 Dodge 1-ton truck...The wheels really set it off...Power is from a Cummins 6BT...

Another non-entry was this 1963 Ford Galaxie...I'm curious what was under the hood...

  1. In all fairness, your model was pretty cold! But I love the way you blended it in so seamlessly....close call between the Fairlane and the Bel Air for me!

  2. Any way you look at her, the model is a babe regardless of the temperature!...Maybe she'll be available for future photo shoots since she not only classes up the joint, but also works cheap...
